Minutes 7/14/09
Holland Conservation Commission
~
Minutes of Commission meeting held on July 14, 2009.
~
Present:  Mary vandenBerg, Chairperson, Patricia Caron, Howard Fife and Nathan Gumlaw.  Absent:  Marcia Beal and James Wettlaufer.

Chairperson called the meeting to order.

The Minutes of June 23, 2009 were read and accepted and will be distributed.

7:10 p.m.  Mary vandenBerg reported that Seth LaJoie of Seth L. LaJoie & Associates was called and informed that we had not heard from the DEP regarding his project at 174 Mashapaug Rd.  Seth LaJoie said that the DEP would not be issuing any additional comments. He had received on 6-24-09 an e-mail from the DEP thanking him for the revised plans of 6-19-09 and the Drainage Analysis report and that same day sent a second revision “creating a parking area that is pitched back from the road to keep the water out of the paved portion of the right-of-way (parking lot).  I am proposing a 1:1 cut as I know that this is all going to be ledge.  This eliminates the need for a retaining wall and it also eliminates the need for a catch basin with the discharge into the pond.”  Mary vandenBerg asked that he forward these e-mail messages to herself and the Secretary, which he did.

7:30 p.m.  The continued Public Hearing of a Notice of Intent for Trenton Carlson of 174 Mashapaug Rd., Map 10A-6.02, DEP File #184-0232 to construct a driveway for a single family home was held.  No abutters came.  Present were Attorney Kevin Sullivan, Trenton Carlson, Seth LaJoie of Seth L. LaJoie & Associates, Inc.  Seth LaJoie reviewed the second revised parking lot plan which he had submitted to the DEP.  We recommended that the parking area be of a pervious material to which they agreed.  Trenton Carlson agreed to a site visit on 7-15-09 at 6:00 p.m.  Following discussion, motion was made by Howard Fife and seconded by Mary vandenBerg that the plot plan revised on 6-23-09 be approved.  All were in favor.  All were in favor of closing the Hearing at 7:50 p.m.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted by:

Patricia J. Caron, Secretary
